Nursery Funding 3-4 year olds

All children aged 3-4 years are eligible for 15 hours of funded childcare.  However some parents can claim 30 hours of funded childcare. Parents must check this themselves on the government website:

Get free childcare if you're working: Check if you're eligible

During these sessions the child’s key person will make observations on each stage and area of their development. Currently these are arranged into 7 areas.

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Communication, Language
  • Physical Development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding of the World
  • Expressive arts and Design

After making careful observation the key person will plan the next stage for each child’s learning. Each child has a very detailed Progress Record Book into which all observations are noted. These records are also given to parents to give to their child’s new teacher. This helps their new teacher plan for each child’s needs when they transfer.

When Ofsted inspectors visit the school they ask to see these records to ensure that they are being kept correctly and that the children have the opportunity to take part in all areas of the EYFS curriculum. Using these they make a judgment about the school’s effectiveness in monitoring each child and the plans, which are then written, to guide the child through their next stage of development.

New Funding from September 2024: 9 months-3 year olds

From September 2024 15 hours of grant funded childcare is available to eligible parents. To check if you qualify please look at the government website above

In September 2025, the government is introducing 30 grant funded hours to eligible parents of under 2’s and 2 to 3 year old's. Unfortunately we will not be able to offer 30 hours to these age groups as our baby and toddler rooms are oversubscribed and we do not have the space to increase our capacity.

We do have a baby room for babies aged 3 months -9 months. Please note there is no funding available under the age of 9 months so parents will have to pay their fees in full. We do offer reduced rates for half days, full days and a weekly rate for this age group, please refer to our session costs section.

Our nursery is also registered with the government’s Tax Free childcare scheme.
